What you should know about your web host.

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Yesterday I received a nice email in my inbox, I read that short and interesting email, it was like 5 to 6 lines max, at the end was a link which I was asked to click on. I did exactly that. I wait for about 1 minute but no page downloaded. I think my Internet connection gets down so I checked it but it was perfect.

I refresh the page many times but results were same. I read all other mails and did my routine work. In evening suddenly I remember that mail. Since it was so Interesting, I again read it and click on the link but this time also same results appears. I finally give up and delete that mail.

This whole episode left a question in my mind that why people don’t choose their web host wisely. In fact it’s the most vital part of Internet business.

A web host is the first important step towards building our Internet business. You can get cheap or even free hosting services but don’t prefer free hosting for commercial sites. Your users are going to get blasted with annoying pop-ups every time they surf to your page, it’s going to be impossible to get a
decent position in a search engine, and you don’t even get a real business URL. No one’s going to remember your web address if they have to type www.myfreehost.com/my_site.

So the question is what points we should consider before select our web host.

1. Space
It’s the first point to consider that how much space your host is providing to you. If you have one or two page website with no downloads, it’s not an important point but if you are planning to go for resale right product, you need at least 100 MB space. Most good web host provide minimum 1 GB space to their clients.

2. Bandwidth
It’s the most important part to check. Did you know that sites with high downloads causes many people to go over budget on bandwidth and lose their host? Sometimes they have to pay fees up to hundreds of dollars. It’s essential to check before buying any hosting services. Most good host provides 25 to 50 GB Bandwidth.

3. Support System
It’s also key point. If you get stuck at any point, how long does it take to get support? Do they provide 24/7 phone support.

Some Additional features we must check:

How many POP email account they are providing?
How many database they are providing?
Do they have Web based e-mail?
Do they have Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus filters?
Can you Password Protected your directories?
Do they take regular backup in case of server get crashed?
Do they have money-back Guarantee, if you don’t like their services?
Do they support Perl, PHP, Crontab and Secure Server Layer? (You don’t require these facilities in beginning but after some time you need it.)

I personally trust “Ultimate Web Hosting Services” for my hosting needs. They have all features that a professional host must have. The must to tell feature of this hosting service is that it gives one hour response guarantee but usually I get response in 5-10 minutes. I prefer this hosting service just
because of its speedy response and its tons of superb qualities. You can try their services at:
http://www.ultimatewebhostingservices.com

I am not saying that they are the best. There may be other companies that have even better services but in terms of their prices they are the best.

So whatever host you choose you must consider these points so you never get in trouble.

Every Online Better’s Desire: Rakeback Offers to Increase Your Earnings

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Many a gamer has asked me “Why should I sign up for this poker rakeback? I just play in online poker websites when there is an incentive.” What will you do if one of these days you take the opportunity to be a professional poker gambler? There are a lot of card players in the gaming world who are very dissapointed at not using Full Tilt Poker rakeback and like a shot they have opted in for all the major online websites. Don’t turn into one of them.

Anyone that plays below one or two dollars and then just plays when you are clearing bonus sign-up rewards, you are picking up in most cases around one hundred percent rake back considering the bonus payment on your bet. A certain major gaming website lately shut accounts of gamers that used their betting website merely to play this way. No one knows for sure if this will potentially kickoff a trend. Should this come about then immediately a rake back offer is extremely critical.

One day you might just hit top form and discover you are extremely fortunate, that’s if it hasn’t come about already. I was hurt by an accident then online poker came along during my recovery, I have no second thoughts. That happened a couple of years back now and believe me I haven’t had to work since because of poker and of course rakeback offers. It is always fantastic plan to look ahead. Regard it an investment for the future, if you do not believe poker rakeback is beneficial for you now it for sure could be an outstanding strategy before long, there is no danger involved. Should you be looking at trying out any different web site you should sign up for rake back.

The Rakeback Professionals website is happy to be associated with such a lot of respectable affiliates. Signing up can be as effortless as visiting a The online gambling interest organization Rakeback Professionals affiliate website or as problem free as sending an e-mail. Every partner will get everyone set up at once. You can begin playing straight away. Should you sign up with an affiliate thru Rakeback Professionals you can rest easy as this partner will have been checked out and furthermore have agreed to authorise The gamblers’ interest organization Rakeback Professionals to mediate whatever disagreement that may surface. Because we screen all our affiliates, issues have been few and far between and in addition we will invariably act straight off to get to the bottom of each issue for the protection of any bettors.

Screenwriting and Movie Making: Creativity and Effective Teams

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Screenwriting is often performed by the single individual or a pair. And sometimes other people become involved.

Once in the production phase, a multitude of competencies and groups must necessarily collaborate to successfully commercialise that screenplay.

Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation and innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation. This definition goes some way in illustrating the multiple layers and granularity of the process.

Team structures must be manged effectively at each stage for optimum results.

There are essentially four possible structures:

a) The single individual – many single individuals have been known to make significant contributions in their fields – Einstein etc. But can you separate the idea from its influences? Individuals also suffer a high degree of path dependency.

b) The pair. This structure goes some way to overcoming path dependencies but does not benefit from the intellectual cross pollination of large groups.

c) The small group. Intellectual cross pollination increases but so do core and peripheral information pathways, creating hierarchies and restricting information flow.

d) The large group. Very high levels of intellectual cross pollination but an increase in group think, a decline in individual performance, higher evaluation apprehension, an increase in political behaviour and more.

It seems that a pair and small group combinations are most effective overall. But different combinations geared for the specific endeavour produce the best results overall.

How to Make More Sales – Use Condensed Milk

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Christmas time is always a bad time for my family – when it comes to eating.

There is always so much to eat and it tastes just divine… overeating really can’t be helped.

And then comes January when we are all on serious detox programmes.

This year was no different, of course.
But with the rushing out to buy all the healthiest, bestest, most organic foods we could find, we found ourselves running out of cupboard space to pack all this healthy stuff.

And at the back of one of our healthy cupboards I discovered… yes – lurking in the darkness in a corner – a tin of condensed milk.
What to do?
That tin had been in the cupboard for about 6 months, completely hidden away and unused.
But now – it could not stay there anymore.
It was sure to lead us into temptation – it had to go!!!

But where to put it?
I couldn’t throw it away!

Eventually, after a long hard think, the only available spot I could find was a little opening on a shelf right above our kettle.
And that was where I left it.

Now – for the big question.
The tin had been hiding in the cupboard for 6 months.
How long do you think it lasted out in the open just above the kettle (a place that gets visited at least 10 times a day for various coffee and tea breaks…)

Take a guess.

How long do you think?

Well, I am ashamed to say that the answer is… a whole 4 days.

So what in the heck does my sweet tooth have to do with your business?

An immense amount actually.

Think about this – the tin of condensed milk never tried to sell itself to me.
No hard sell involved.
It wasn’t being pushy.
In fact – it didn’t even say a word.

But what did it do?
Nothing – it was just there.
It was creating an awareness.
And eventually, when I was ready, I HAD to give in.

In your business, do you have a plan in place to stay in contact regularly with your customers and your potential customers.
Remember – you don’t have to sell to them for them to buy from you.
You simply have to be in their awareness all the time.
Once a week, once a month.

But whatever you do, never drop the ball.

Eventually when they are ready for you (and if you are in their top-of-mind awareness), then you are the only person they will come to.

Put in place a 7-point system to stay in contact (over the next 7 weeks or whatever works for you), and then stick to that system.

You’ll be amazed by how clever a tin of condensed milk actually is.

The Eleven Dimensions of Space/Time – Part I

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

I offer the following material as a metaphysical exposition of the basic dimensions defining space/time as we experience it. Note that the number of dimensions here is the same as in what is known in theoretical physics as “M-Theory”.

  • primary (defines a line, the selfsame line is a coordinate axis, the center of which is the Infinite Point)
  • secondary (defines a plane, coordinate axis is at right angles to the primary, this axis bisecting the primary at the Infinite Point)
  • tertiary (defines the volumetric space of the sphere, coordinate axis of which is a direction at right angles to both the primary and the secondary, and bisecting them both at the Infinite Point)
  • time (defines directions at right angles to the primary, secondary, and tertiary; can be modeled as the surface of the sphere, the center of which is the center of the sphere, the Infinite Point)
  • movement of primary (rotation of the primary axis by degrees around the sphere, over time. The line rotates with the Infinite Point being the pivot upon which the rotation occurs, and is modeled simply as the rotation of a line within a plane section.)
  • movement of secondary (rotation of the secondary axis by degrees around the sphere, over time; together with the primary, can be modeled simply as the rotation of a plane section within the sphere, with the primary axis line as the pivot around which the rotation occurs.)
  • movement of tertiary (rotation of the tertiary axis by degrees around the sphere, over time; together with primary and secondary, can be modeled simply as the rotation of a spherical construct relative to a starting, or reference, position, with the center of the sphere as the pivot around which the rotation occurs.)
  • pulse of time (expansion/contraction of time, modeled as the oscillation of the surface of the sphere in a direction at right angles to the
surface; spherical expansion represents energetic radiation in the following three dimensions while spherical contraction represents energetic absorption.)
  • energetic radiation/absorption along primary (oscillation along the line over time; can be modeled as a pair of points on the line, one on each side of the center, moving with equivalent but varying spacing between each of them and the center point. Note that different pairs of points can be moving at different “times” or frequencies along this axis.)
  • energetic radiation/absorption along secondary (with primary, is oscillation on the plane over time; simple example can be modeled as a shrinking or expanding circle on the plane)
  • energetic radiation/absorption along tertiary (with primary and secondary, is oscillation within the volumetric space of the sphere, over time, simple example can be modeled as a shrinking or expanding bubble or subsphere)

All eleven dimensions have a common center; that is, the center of the line, the plane, and the sphere are the same, as is true with the subsequent dimensions. Time transforms the static into the dynamic, which is one reason for labeling it a transformation dimension. Time enables spatial movement (rotation) of the first three dimensions; this movement is measured along dimensions five, six, and seven. (continued in Part II)

Earning Income with your Blog Site

Affiliate Yourself and Start Earning Income with your Blog Site

The following article presents the very latest information on blogging. If you have a particular interest in blogging, then this informative article is required reading.

Not only are there a lot of people out there blogging for fun, many of them are finding ways to make money by blogging. There are a number of ways an income from blogging can be achieved, but one of the most popular is by affiliating your blog. If you are blogging or considering starting a blog and you are not yet affiliated, you will quickly find that you should. Otherwise, you are just leaving money on the table that you may not have to.

The first thing you may be asking yourself is this: what is an affiliate program? Well, that is a great question and one easily answered. An affiliate program is one where the seller offers a part of the money generated by a sale to those who refer customers to them. There are, in fact, a lot of websites out there who are parts of affiliate programs.

With these companies, you need to sign up. You will, in most cases, be given a unique ID from that affiliate. That ID is for identifying you as the one who has referred the customer to the site and made the sale. If, then, you are successful in helping to sell the product, you receive payment that is generally stated in whatever your affiliate agreement includes. The amount you might get paid ranges greatly. You may make as little as one cent in US dollars or as much as one hundred US dollars depending on the product, the company, and sometimes the amount you help to sell.

Hopefully the information presented so far has been applicable. You might also want to consider the following:

Once you have made the decision to use an affiliate program and have figured out which one you want to use, then you are ready to get started. Sign up and register for the affiliate program and start adding your affiliate’s codes to your blog. Ah, but there is the next issue: how do you include affiliate links? There are a few ways you can do that. First of all, you can do reviews about a product and then link to that product through your affiliate program (obviously you would need it to be a product offered by your affiliate program). A second way, if you don’t want to do a review, is to compile a recommended list that is either in a blog entry or along the side of your blog. A third way to get your affiliate program involved in your blog is to use codes or scripts in your coding that will generate random links to products in your affiliate program.

Once you have your links and your program in place, it will be all about product. It is important to note that most people are not going to keep reading a website if they think it is just all about selling. Make sure your content, which you update regularly, is useful to the reader. You want that reader to keep coming back and hopefully working through your affiliates, so you really should concentrate on good, solid, useful content that is going to keep your readers coming back and not make them feel like they are being sold all the time. If, however, you really want to sell, you should try to label your site as a commercial endeavor. Keep those things in mind and your affiliate program will hopefully help you turn a profit.

No matter what your blogging experience may be, it is possible that you can blog for fun and profit at the same time. There are a number of ways to make a profit off of your blog, but the most common right now is to affiliate yourself with certain other sites and products. Affiliate programs generally cost little or no money and can help you make money on your own. They are basically a way of getting commission from helping someone to sell a product or service. So find the ones that work with the theme of your blog and get those codes up on your site. Once they are up, make sure you are finding ways to drive traffic to them without going overboard on the selling and making sure your content is useful. Stick with these tips and stays focused and before you know it, your blog can become a success through the use of a good affiliate program.

If you’ve picked some pointers about blogging that you can put into action, then by all means, do so. You won’t really be able to gain any benefits from your new knowledge if you don’t use it.

Revealing the Firefox Secret Used by Top Web Developers and Power-Browsers

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Profiles are one of the best kept secrets around regarding Mozilla Firefox (my browser of choice).

In the role of web site designer, I find it useful to have Firefox set up with various Extensions for helping test compliance, keep track of Google Adsense earnings, checking PageRank and Alexa rating, etc…

However, when I am simply surfing the internet, I don’t want to be weighed down by all these tools, cluttering up my status and toolbars. I like a slick, simple browser that looks good and works quickly.

Fortunately, I am able to have both of these scenarios in Firefox, through the wonder of Profiles.

How do Firefox Profiles work?

Firefox allows multiple users to set up the browser to suit their own specific needs and tastes, from Themes and Extensions to Bookmarks and Home Page.
Upon startup of Firefox, you are able to choose which user profile you would like to use.
So, you can now have a profile for your web development needs, one for your personal surfing, and even one for the kids (allowing you to increase Firefox’s security measures).
Each profile is independent of the others, so it’s like having a new installation for each user.

How do I activate Firefox Profiles?

1. Firstly, find the Firefox shortcut on your desktop (or create one from the .exe file).

2. Right-click it, and select properties.

3. Lastly, in the Target box, add ‘ -p’ without the apostrophes to the end of the target line (so that it reads something like ‘C:Program FilesMozillaFirefoxfirefox.exe -p’), and click OK.

Now when you start Firefox through this shortcut you will be prompted with the Profiles Manager box (as long as you do not already have an instance of Firefox open). It’s all self-explanatory from thereon.

For faster start-up, I advise that you keep two shortcuts on your desktop – one to load up Firefox as normal, and this new one to execute only when you want to change profile.
