Scientific discoveries in the realm of nanotechnology show that the search for nanominerals, also known as mineral nanoparticles, may develop change in the mining business. The study of these sub-micron deposits of metals is the growth of engineering methods for identifying and extracting the minerals.

The way nanominerals are mined includes the utilization of electron microscopes to search trace deposits of gold. These are nano deposits concealed inside a coating that is like a refractory shell. This coating acts as a stopping agent that averts simple detection as well as extraction as a result of using standard mining assay methods. Examples of these methods are aqua regia leach, neutron activation study, and fire assay.

Scientists and engineers in mining have recently created processes in tracking and digging out mineral nanoparticles. One who sets an example in performing these methods is Dr. Charles Ager, establisher and chairman of Nanominerals Corporation. Charles Ager gathered a group of scientists and engineers who helped facilitate the discovery of gold in the Delgratia Project of Nevada. Charles Ager and company used original and advanced technologies in nano-metallurgy and nano-exploration.

Aside from Ager, Australia’s national science society called the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), is also one of the biggest and most distinct international groups that highlight discoveries in nanomineral technology.
